Master course on “International Protection of Human Rights”

The master course on  “International Protection of Human Rights” at Marin Barleti University aims to provide students with basic knowledge of theoretical and practical human rights through study of the key legal instruments and quasi legal, the international and national right kind and the right strong (soft and hard law) on the protection of human rights, as well as key the institutions that guarantee the implementation of these instruments. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to recognize the universal system for the protection of human rights, the regional systems and their implementing mechanisms. He should be able to recognize the procedures applied to setting in motion the mechanisms to protect human rights at the national, regional and international levels. Also, the student must be able to find solutions to concrete situations that may be encountered in everyday life, especially he/she needs to know in detail implementing and guaranteeing mechanisms to European Regional System of Protection of Human Rights established within the Council of Europe and in particular within the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Also, the student should be able to understand and pursue all avenues of complaint nationally and internationally for the protection and the respect of human rights enabling inter alia the preparation of complaints nationally, regionally and internationally.
